Part-Time Therapist Position at Family Youth Interventions – Runaway Homeless Youth Programs
About Us:
Family Youth Interventions, a program of Comprehensive Youth Services, Inc., is dedicated to providing comprehensive support and interventions for youth and families. Our Basic Center and Transitional Living Programs offer crucial assistance to young individuals navigating challenging circumstances, empowering them to overcome obstacles and thrive.
Program Descriptions:
The Transitional Living Program (TLP) is a voluntary residential program for up to 18 months, serving young people ages 16-20 who are experiencing homelessness, are at imminent risk of homelessness, or who have run away from home. The goal of the program is to promote independence, self-sufficiency, and empowerment.
Our Basic Center Program (BCP) is a voluntary residential program for youth aged 12 to 17 for up to 21 days. The goal is family reunification when possible. We offer counseling, life skills training, and a wide range of recreational activities to help them discover their strengths, build resiliency, and envision a brighter future.
Responsibilities:
Provide therapy and personalized case management for a maximum of 12 residential clients between the BCP and TLP programs, tailoring interventions to individual needs.
Conduct individual and family therapy sessions, develop treatment plans, and manage all related paperwork and reporting requirements with precision and care.
Extend supportive counseling to agency families post-residential discharge, offering guidance and resources for up to 90 days to ensure a smooth transition.
Actively participate in monthly business meetings, case consultation sessions, and skill development trainings to enhance expertise and stay abreast of best practices.
Assist with handling agency crisis calls and in-person assessments.
Collaborate closely with agency staff, providing consultation and insights on caseload clients through both in-person discussions and remote communication channels.
Hours:
This is a part-time position, offering up to 25 hours per week, contingent upon client count and caseload. Exact schedule can be discussed upon hire; however some flexibility is essential.
Requirements:
A Master’s Degree in Counseling or Social Work with a minimum of a Limited License is required.
Demonstrated experience of at least one year (including internships) in providing counseling or social work services to youth and families.
Proof of a negative TB test, submission of 3 professional references, and possession of a full clearance from both criminal and child abuse/neglect background checks are mandatory.
Compensation:
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
