Duties

Responsibilities:
  • Engage children in stimulating developmental activities and play.
  • Supervise children closely to ensure their safety at all times.
  • Assist children with daily activities such as restroom use, diapering, and handwashing.
  • Daily communication with parents regarding their child(ren).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for all children.
  • Cultivate professional relationships with each family to provide high-quality care and friendly service.
  • Supervise classroom teacher aides, ensuring compliance with program policies and customer service standards.
  • Provide guidance and training to teacher aides as needed throughout the day.
  • Plan daily age-appropriate activities for young children.
  • Conduct child assessments and facilitate parent-teacher conferences.
  • Participate in occasional parent involvement events, including evenings and weekends.
  • Prepare monthly parent newsletters and weekly lesson plans per policy.
  • Responsible for daily reports and activities related to meals, nap time, and diaper changes.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and consistently uphold the organization's values.


Requirements

Education:
  • Must hold a bachelor's degree or higher for this lead teacher position. Bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with WSO, mandatory parent/teacher conferences, and weekly lesson planning.
Background Checks:
  • Minimum age requirement: 18 years.
  • Successfully pass various background checks, including those conducted through Bright from the Start.
Experience:
  • Possess two or more years of experience in GA Pre-K.
  • Certifications:
  • CPR First Aid certification is required, or the ability to obtain certification upon hiring.
Physical Ability:
  • Ability to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children up to 70lbs.
Transportation:
  • Have reliable transportation.
Work Ethic:
  • Maintain a strong work ethic, punctuality, and minimal absences.
Understanding:
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the unique needs of young children and maintain appropriate expectations.
Availability:
  • Be available for full-time employment between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
