Mechanical Project Engineer
This is a hands-on position responsible for project management and engineering of extrusion equipment, hydraulic cylinders, valves, piping, and complete design of special machines. Project engineers are responsible for working with sales team and customers to develop a detailed scope of work; and working with venders, purchasing, and manufacturing to create proposals for customers. Use good engineering practice to create and maintain detail designs, internal documentation, and bills of material for manufacturing. A successful project engineer owns the project throughout the design and manufacturing process and addresses any issues identified through installation or delivery.

What you’ll do
· Create 3D models and 2D engineering drawings and maintain design control records per company standards
· Creates manufacturing process documentation and schedules
· Read hydraulic and electrical schematics for installation and troubleshooting
· Develop scope of work and cost estimates
· Review procedures, layouts, incoming parts, assemblies, and related tasks
· Travel nationally and internationally, sometimes on short notice, to support customers during planned and un-planned shutdowns
· Interface with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing floor to assure that high quality projects are delivered on time
What you’ll need
· Bachelors of Science in mechanical engineering or engineering technology
· High mechanical aptitude and ability to read and analyze engineering drawings
· Mechanical CAD required (SolidWorks, Creo, & AutoCAD Preferred)
· Familiarity with FEA software beneficial (SolidWorks Simulation, or ANSYS)
· Familiar with machining, fabrication, and other manufacturing processes
· Familiar with engineering materials and commercial machine components
· Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical control systems is beneficial
· Valid US driver’s license and ability to travel up to 10%
· Reading/Writing skills (literacy) English required
· Proficient in MS Office suite and familiar with use of ERP software
· Above education requirement may be offset by significant prior experience
