About the Role of Director of Technical Sales:

Our client, a prominent player in the automotive industry, is seeking an exceptional Director of Technical Sales - ADAS. As the Director of Technical Sales, you will report to the Chief Technology Officer and spearhead the management and execution of technical sales activities within the Automotive Advanced Driver Safety Assistance Systems segment.

Main Duties of Director of the Technical Sales:

  • Collaborate with sales leaders to assess customer needs and conduct pre-demo needs analysis
  • Deliver product demonstrations, tailored to both suspects and prospects, and effectively position our products against competitors
  • Work closely with sales leaders to devise and implement targeted sales strategies
  • Conduct technical pre-sales activities and provide comprehensive status reports to management
  • Engage with OEM and Tier 1 customers, delivering product-centric presentations
  • Tailor technical content to suit various audience knowledge levels and interests
  • Develop preliminary project plans, identifying key risks and mitigation strategies
  • Create Statements of Work based on contractual agreements, product requirements, and schedules
  • Communicate progress and potential issues to management promptly, particularly those impacting quality or delivery timelines
  • Apply sales methodologies effectively in various sales scenarios
  • Travel as required, estimated at 25%

 

Your Competencies:

  • Proven experience in automotive ADAS projects, including engagements with OEMs and Tier 1 OEM Suppliers
  • Expertise in ADAS algorithm development and creating portable, reusable, and modular software within the automotive domain
  • Proficiency in embedded software development in C/C++ for ARM and/or X86 embedded systems, encompassing applications and low-level drivers
  • Experience with single and multi-camera system software development and integration
  • Familiarity with OEM-specific Automotive Vehicle Networks (CAN and/or LIN) embedded software implementation
  • Knowledge of automotive industry regulations such as 16949 and 26262, as well as diagnostic protocols like UGS, ISO 14229, and KWP2000
  • Proficiency in CAN & LIN-based tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape, neoVI, etc.
  • Strong grasp of disciplined software development processes based on Agile or SPICE/CMMi methodologies
  • Experience in customer interface for all software-related activities, including design reviews, requirement clarification, and negotiation

 

Your Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of development experience in automotive electronics software, preferred
  • 3+ years of pre-sales experience in automotive electronics software, preferred
  • Proven track record in coordinating projects with offshore development teams
  • Flexibility in managing day-to-day work assignments
  • High standards of performance
  • Ability to cultivate positive working relationships with team members
