Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOverview: Stevedore Vessel Operators/* This position requires working within the ships*
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Stevedore Vessel operator to join our team. As a Stevedore Vessel Operator, you will be responsible for overseeing warehouse operations with inside the ships, and ensuring the efficient movement of goods. This is a physically demanding role that requires heavy lifting and operating heavy equipment. If you have mechanical knowledge, strong leadership skills, and experience in a warehouse environment, we encourage you to apply.
Location: Detroit
Pay: $19.00
Duties:
- Supervise warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and distributing products
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Oversee inventory management and conduct regular stock checks
- Coordinate with other departments to meet customer demands and deadlines
- Train and mentor warehouse staff on proper procedures and equipment operation
- Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy of orders
- Operate heavy equipment, such as cranes and clamp trucks, to load and unload materials
- Conduct order picking and packing as needed
Skills:
- Strong mechanical knowledge to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or similar role
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
- Proficient in inventory management software
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong leadership abilities to effectively manage a team
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order fulfillment
- Knowledge of distribution center operations
