Job Summary

The Regional Sales Manager is the face of the company, representing our culture to the highest decision-makers within the industry. At all times we represent ourselves, our fellow employees, our customers, and the company with respect. The Regional Sales Manager will be expected to take full ownership of their assigned territory and/or customer base and use their initiatives to operate independently and flexibly to achieve desired sales and revenue goals.

Responsibilities / Activities
  • Meet assigned sales and revenue growth numbers.
  • Seek to have the company product as the basis of design in engineering specifications.
  • Build relationships with Representatives, consulting engineering, regulators, and industry to enable the effective management of an assigned territory to achieve assigned goals and expectations.
    • Analyze the performance of Representatives and monitor their effectiveness so that action can be taken to ensure continued progress in the territory.
    • Train Representatives so that they have a sufficient level of product and application knowledge to effectively promote and sell our products.
    • Support the Representatives by becoming their main source for technical and sales product information, industry application advice, system selection advice, and quotations.
    • Regularly visit Representatives to review business and make plans for future actions.
    • Accompany Representatives on customer visits, to support the distributor in technical/commercial discussions and to gain familiarity with the industries and applications.
  • Coordinate and participate in all trade shows, conferences, and other sales events.
  • Gather information on competitors, markets, and territory trends, and provide up-to-date information to management.  
  • Maintain sales pipeline, update & report ongoing results through the company’s CRM database (Pipeliner CRM)
  • Give sales presentations to Engineering Consultants and Owners through on-site meetings, webinars, and digital lunch & learns.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of sales experience in the water and/or wastewater fields. Blower/compressor experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in municipal wastewater equipment sales.
  • Strong technical knowledge of wastewater processes.
  • Solid working knowledge of the capital sales process and planning cycles with a history of successfully achieving capital sales targets.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time. Ability to be able to work out of a home satellite office effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Strong interpersonal and time management skills. Self-driven and entrepreneurial.
  • Existing relationships with Engineering Consultants and Owners within the US municipal business.
  • Strategic thinker, analytical, with an ability to translate experience to customer solutions and value selling.
  • History of consistently achieving revenue targets through representative and distribution firms.
  • Ability to speak intelligently on engineered equipment. Organizational skills to coordinate multiple large projects at several locations simultaneously.
  • Ability to hold quarterly performance meetings and hold under-performers accountable.
  • Ability to use technology and analysis tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to interact with the company's Directors and VPs to communicate market trends and concerns.
