Our client, based in Wisconsin, operates a private grain elevator and farming operation and is looking for an on-site accountant.Their business is growing and this role will be an integral part of the companys team.


Core Responsibilities


-Take ownership of all general accounting practices for grain elevator business including mark-to-market accounting, day/month/year end processes, and other journal entry processes

-Maintain general ledger for all other business functions

-Reconcile bank and credit accounts

-Manage all banking responsibilities

-Prepare and run payroll weekly

-Own invoicing system

-Compile year end info for audits, tax return preparation by third party CPA, and bank cash flow projections

-Work with CPA to confirm compliance

-Any other duties befitting a small grain & farm business


Core Competencies & Requirements


-Onsite in the Madison, WI area

-Accounting experience required

-Associates Degree in Accounting or similar required

-Bachelors Degree or higher in Accounting preferred

-Agriculture experience preferred

-High attention to detail

-Very well organized

-Available to work hours necessary during tax/audit/harvest seasons
