Job Summary:
This position will utilize electrical engineering fundamentals to lead, learn and optimize military standard processes and procedures. This position supports a myriad of cutting-edge systems under test, ranging from antennas, prototype handheld radios to armored vehicles under development. This position will also require the individual to work / supervise away from “home base” from time to time
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for leading technicians, maintainers, and people in temporary positions to properly execute an array of test procedures
Work with customers; both civilian and military, to define test requirements, scope of work and create technical approaches and cost estimates for upcoming test
Responsible for supervising / managing a group of personnel which could range from 5 to upward of 50 people depending on the current mission / tasking
Educational/Training Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience OR 8 years of professional experience working as contractor for government testing in a lead or assistant lead position
Prior military experience preferred
Required Skills/Experience:
Familiarity with the following equipment: Spectrum analyzers, Network analyzers, amplifiers, and RF cables
A basic understanding of the frequency spectrum
Must be able to interact with other peer engineer groups to define, document, and interpret information derived from the testing process
Work Environment:
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting). Outside work may include various environmental conditions including warm and cold climates. Needs to be able to work well with co-workers, customer, and all levels of management. Potential hazards on job or unusual environmental conditions due to nature of our environment
Physical Demands:
Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Ability to successfully pass a drug screen
Operators must have the ability to visually see objects close in on a small tablet/laptop computers or "smart" phones
Must have sufficient mobility, included but not limited to bending, reaching, turning and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner
This may involve airline travel.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, subordinates, management, and coworkers
Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written
Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others
Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner
Independent personal transportation to office or work site is required. Travel to and from customer ' s locations and the test fields may be required to support projects
