Position: Sr Accountant-Revenues

Department: Finance

Reports To: Deputy Controller

Brief Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior Accountant over revenue will serve under the direction of the Deputy Controller. In exercising their duties, the staff person must be able to assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures and interdepartmental procedures to ensure compliance with established policies, state and federal guidelines, generally accepted standards for municipal accounting and generally accepted accounting procedures.

The Senior Accountant over fiscal will be responsible for reviewing all revenue sources as they relate to financial matters. Duties performed to insure all City records and ledgers are completely and accurately prepared, either internally or externally by outside departments.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Ø Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration

Ø Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or

Bachelor’s degree with five to seven years related experience

Ø Proven leadership and supervisory capabilities

Ø Strong organization, interpersonal, and communication skills

Ø Strong PC skills in spreadsheet and data base software

Ø Comprehensive knowledge of office terminology

Ø Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and general public

Ø Excellent writing and typing skills

Ø Must possess knowledge of office equipment

Ø Must be a troubleshooter- Able to recognize problems and offer solutions

Ø Detailed Oriented

Ø Responsible for preparing a weekly project assignment table or calendar of all pending, in-process and projected assignments. This should include work hours the Senior Accountant has accumulated and will accumulate by project.

Ø Completes other assignments assigned by Controller or Deputy Controller and logs the time used for each assignment to be documented on the weekly table or calendar.

Ø Reviews investment ledgers and reconciles interest earned to system general ledger.

Salary: $48,675.33
