Job DescriptionJob Description

The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for providing a high level of customer service while maintaining the patient flow in the clinic by providing the support services necessary to schedule appointments, register patients, answer phones, and provide support to the clinic office staff and providers.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs clerical duties including typing, filing, and completion of simple forms.
  • Operates office machines, including copiers, scanners, phone and voicemail systems, personal computers, and other standard office equipment.
  • Serves as a receptionist for the office, greeting visitors and applicants.
  • Answers phones, directs calls to appropriate individuals and prepares messages.
  • Copies, sorts, and files records related to office activities, business transactions, and other matters.
  • Manages calendars and schedules appointments as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to type at least 45 words per minute.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills, with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • EMR Experience preferred.
  • Understanding of Medical Terminology preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years of clerical, customer service, or other relevant experience required.
  • Some college or technical training preferred.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum two (2) years of clerical, customer service, or other relevant experience required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
