Position Summary:


American Equipment is a leading manufacturer and supplier of industrial cranes, specializing in providing high-quality and reliable solutions for various industrial applications.


We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Contract Specialist to join our team on a seasonal basis for a period of 6 months (June 2024 to December 2024). As a Contract Specialist, you will play a critical role in the prequalification of potential vendors and customers, as well as the drafting, reviewing, and flagging of issues in various types of commercial contracts.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prequalify credit worthiness of potential vendors and customers to ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Communicate and collaborate with various departments to gather necessary information for contract drafting and review.
  • Proof read, edit and fact-check documents for accuracy and consistency.
  • Analyze and support the negotiation of contract provisions. Bring issues up to the business leadership and work towards a resolution
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal and business requirements.
  • Manage contract templates and documentation, organize records, and ensure accurate and timely contract administration
  • Gather all pertinent information from various departments to complete contracts.
  • Communicate daily with Sales, Operations and Finance teams on signed deals as needed.
  • Identify and flag any contractual issues or discrepancies, providing recommendations for resolution.
  • Conduct contract analysis and risk assessments to mitigate potential legal or financial risks.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract documentation and records.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of contract management processes and procedures.


Required Skills/Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Contract Management or prior experience.
  • Proven experience as a Contract Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management software.


Work Environment

  • Able to work in an office for extensive periods of time
  • Sitting and standing
  • Able to walk and traverse stairs
  • Able to lift up to 10 lbs.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
