Job DescriptionJob Description

The Administrative Assistant II is responsible for the day-to-day administrative support of the department. This position will work closely with the department Chair, duties include:

  • Coordinating departmental activities, including but not limited to academic events, recruitment events, faculty activities, and student organization functions
  • Serve as the point of contact for purchasing
  • Communicating with faculty and students, university officials, and the public
  • Gathering data and preparing reports
  • Compose letters and draft correspondence
  • Ensure confidentiality of information
  • Answering inquiries according to standard departmental procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Qualification

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • 2 years of administrative office experience

Other Preferences for Consideration

  • Associate degree preferred
  • Experience in higher education preferred
