We’re currently searching for a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) who will foster a positive work environment and uphold the hospital's culture, which is fundamental to PAZ’s identity. As a mentor and role model, the CMO dedicates part of their schedule to practicing veterinary medicine while allocating administrative time to drive medical and operational initiatives.

The CMO will oversee medical operations for all 4 of our locations - East, West, North, and South.

We have a talented support staff, a strong management team, and integrative medicine resources available. And, one of less than 100 veterinary behaviorists in the country on our staff.

The CMO’s primary areas of responsibility include the oversight of medical standards of care, patient and client management, operational and financial success of the practice, staff management, and upholding PAZ's culture and values. 

The successful candidate will possess:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university, or equivalent 
  • Active veterinarian licensure in good standing to practice in the state of Texas and an active DEA license
  •  5-8+ years of experience as a practicing veterinarian
  • Strong emotional intelligence, with a deep experience in building and managing relationships, conflict resolution and effective communication 
  • Flexibility and availability to accommodate hospital needs and willingness to adapt to support smooth operations
  • A capacity for critical thinking and objective assessment to discern credibility, assess situations objectively, and guide appropriate action
  • Stress management skills to handle challenges and model behavior a dynamic environment with shifting priorities
  • Initiative and accountability to take charge, initiate action, hold individuals accountable, and delegate responsibilities effectively within the medical leadership team
  • A high commitment to the highest standard of medicine and alignment with PAZ’s core values
