As the Corporate Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of our service and construction HVAC and plumbing services businesses. Your responsibilities will include overseeing accounting functions, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.


Responsibilities


Financial Reporting:

  • Lead the monthly accounting close process, ensuring accurate and complete accounting records prepared in accordance with GAAP.
  • Conduct analytical reviews of operating results, including customer profitability, contract negotiations, pricing decisions, insurance, and capital investments.
  • Provide financial analyses as needed to support strategic decision-making.
Compliance:
  • Support the CFO with monthly debt compliance reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Collaboration and Leadership:
  • Work closely with the executive team to shape the overall financial strategy of the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing financial insights to drive business decisions.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor and analyze variances between budgeted and actual results, offering insights and recommendations.
Cash Flow Management:
  • Manage cash flow and liquidity, ensuring funds are available for daily operations and strategic initiatives.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
  • PE-backed company experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, GAAP, and compliance requirements.
  • Audit experience is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in financial planning and forecasting.
  • Experience with Jonas Enterprise construction software considered a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
