Your Role

We are looking for a consultant to work with us to design and run a program that helps families plan for the cost of college. This role will report to our Chief Customer Officer. Responsibilities include:

  • Design and run a consulting program for parents planning for college costs, including onboarding, consultation structure, and follow up materials
  • Design and run workshops and group sessions for college financial planning
  • Set availability schedule for parents to schedule calls for questions about 529s, how much to save and budget for college costs, and the financial aid process
  • Consult on developing Summer's product tools and marketing materials for college savings planning as needed
  • Develop a framework for measuring user success and savings

We expect the time commitment to be 20 hours per month to start, with the opportunity to grow as user engagement with the college cost planning program increases.

Recommended Experience

  • 5+ years' proven experience as an advisor for educational expenses, including expertise in saving for college, 529s, and FAFSA and financial aid process
  • Bachelor's Degree and Certified Financial Planner designation
  • Ability to begin speaking with users within the first two months of onboarding
  • Excellent attention to detail, multi-tasking, and time management skills
  • Organized and process driven; you can independently manage tasks, know when to
  • ask for help, manage your calendar appropriately, and actively communicate your needs to the team
  • Comfortable in a small, remote team environment; has the ability to independently identify problems and inefficiencies and take ownership on solutions
  • Strong empathetic listening and customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
