Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Manufacturing Accountant. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing all manufacturing accounting functions within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile and organize financial information to establish and maintain standard cost and perpetual inventory systems.
  • Set standards for raw material cost, labor routings, and roll-ups, while providing recommendations for cost efficiency.
  • Perform various accounting tasks, ensuring the accurate preparation and maintenance of accounting records.
  • Manage special projects related to cost monitoring and estimating.
  • Prepare the annual budget for the manufacturing facility, review monthly spending reports, and discuss variances with the plant manager.
  • Support plant management in financial matters.
  • Monitor month-end Cycle Counts for inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain Year-End files for Inventory and accompany Auditors during audits.
  • Monitor non-perpetual inventory for changes and determine when to transition to perpetual status.
  • Compile and maintain daily production records at both the plant and corporate levels.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong technical skills in accounting and knowledge of accepted accounting principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in JDEdwards and MS Excel; familiarity with AS400 systems is preferred.
  • Product knowledge is advantageous for completing Inventory Disposal Requests (IDRs) and Special Product Requests (SPRs).
  • Education: A two-year accounting degree with relevant experience or a four-year accounting degree.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of previous manufacturing experience in cost accounting.
  • Exceptional computer and calculator skills; experience in designing and maintaining software systems is beneficial.
