Management Analyst III


Summary/objective:

KMS Solutions, LLC is a technical management/solutions company that specializes in engineering, analysis, and cyber security. Founded in 2005, KMS is a certified small business with over a decade and a half of experience supporting the Department of Defense as well as many other departments and programs critical to our Nations security and well-being.

Essential functions:

  • Provide Engineering and Technical support services for submarine sonar systems and sonar preventative maintenance requirements.
  • provide training to PMT sonarman on the use of the special purpose sonar test equipment, site visits to each PMT site to ensure sonar test equipment health.
  • Collaborate with SEA05U7, PMS401, and NUWC Newport Sonar ISEA to investigate fleet issues, assist with ship checking new maintenance procedures or updates to PMT Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs), and helping to maintain test sets.
  • Provide support to NSWC Corona on submarine system health monitoring and sustainment/reliability investigations.
  • Provide general engineering services and project support to PMS392P4 (Performance Monitoring Program & Submarine Reliability Branch).


Required education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, or related work experience is required.
  • Operational submarine experience and Maintenance facility Shipyard experience is required.


Preferred education and experience:

  • Experience with Submarine SONAR systems and related support equipment is required.

Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills.
  • High comfort level working with and around all military/organizational levels, clients, customers, suppliers, and visitors.
  • Must be highly reliable and demonstrate personal initiative to operate in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Work authorization/security clearance requirements:

Active Secret clearance is required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

The typical workday is eight hours in length, normal hours are 7:30 AM-3:30PM. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, with concurrence from the supervisor. The employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and must account for the hours in a pay period to maintain full-time status.


Telework:

Telework is not allowed for this position. However, that may change based on customer requirements.


Travel:

Travel will be required to roughly 4 PMT sites a year for site visits, as necessary to NUWC Newport, and a few times a year to NAVSEA headquarters for PMT Indoctrination Course on the Washington DC Navy Yard.
