SALARY: $3,400

POSITION SUMMARY

The Summer Engineering Experience for Kids (SEEK) Site Directors are essential to the program. NSBE is seeking responsible and organized individuals to join NSBE’s SEEK team as Site Directors. Site Directors are responsible for managing all mentors, parents, students, and corporate partners at their respective SEEK site(s). Site Directors will focus on the professional development of all staff members at their site and will serve as the primary liaison to SEEK stakeholders. SEEK Site Directors are expected to manage and communicate daily site operations via collaborative communication channels such as Google Drive. Additionally, Site Directors will embody the NSBE mission in their everyday engagement with students, parents, and staff while executing the goals of the program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Training Requirements

  • Participates in Site Leadership Training two weeks prior to the start of the program.
  • Participates in instructional webinars prior to the start of the program.

Director Operations

  • Must have previous SEEK staff experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must submit to a criminal background check (results must be successful).
  • Must be CPR/First Aid Certified.
  • Pursuing or have successfully obtained an undergraduate degree.
  • Have intensive leadership experience.
  • Have proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs and Google Drive.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of internal and external partners.
  • Maintains and cultivates appropriate professional relationships with WHQ SEEK staff, mentors, parents, and other key stakeholders.
  • Conducts and submits mentor observation evaluations to WHQ for all Mentors.
  • Coordinates all mentor appreciation and professional development events.
  • Coaches lead mentors and troubleshoot interpersonal and professional issues as they arise.
  • Maintains communication channels for all Mentors (i.e. via group chats).
  • Maintains all SEEK communication tools: email and phone (must always be on hand).
  • Leads daily mentor debriefs.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for students, parents and NSBE WHQ staff.
  • Provides appropriate feedback to parents, whenever necessary
  • Submit and maintain incident reports and escalate issues of health and safety pursuant to NSBE policy.
  • Keeps WHQ staff informed of all developments with mentors, parents, students, volunteers, and sponsors, as necessary.
  • Supports OSD in drafting run of show for Parent Orientation and lead mentors in setup.
  • Executes daily debrief meetings with PSD for all site staff.
  • Documents and reports any concerns using appropriate channels to WHQ staff (student injuries, behavioral issues, staffing concerns, etc).
  • Submits weekly reports to WHQ SEEK Staff (competition scores, attendance, goals, etc.)
  • Supports overall implementation of the SEEK program through additional duties as assigned.
  • Active NSBE member (preferred).
  • Prior program management experience is desirable.
  • Previous experience with leading and providing instructions to K-12 students (preferred).
  • Ability to supervise a group of children of various ages preferred.
  • Ability to lead and manage a group of mentors preferred.
  • Ability to confidently speak to a wide audience of stakeholders is desirable.
