The Electrical Technician position supports the overall machine build, debug, and installation duties required from the company. This includes working with all internal departments as part of the team to meet the company initiatives. Support of external customers during installations and customer service requirements.

Requirements:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build and accurately wire electrical panels according to the electrical schematics.
  • Mark-up (redline) electrical schematics using standard symbology and Mikron procedures in the event of minor changes, wire numbers, cables, connectors.
  • Work with Electrical designers for solutions to wiring issues, such as cable routing, and component placement for best wiring practices.
  • Understand and perform LOTO procedures correctly.
  • Troubleshoot wiring issues during de-bug of the projects.
  • Support projects during the Factory Acceptance Testing
  • Understand, perform, and document electrical pre-checks with guidance from mentor.
  • Understand, perform, and document electrical final checks with guidance from mentor.
  • Understand, perform, and document the I/O verification checklist with guidance mentor.
  • Installation duties as required.
  • Any other duties that have been described in detail as assigned by management or supervision within Mikron Corporation Denver.

Required Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience.
  • Control Panel build experience.
  • Good knowledge of industry accepted codes, wiring practices and components typically used in industrial machinery (NFPA 70 and NFPA 79)
  • Good understanding of UL508A Standards, European electrical standards, and CE marking requirements.
  • Read, interpret, and work from North American and European format electrical schematics that are typically used in industrial machinery.
  • Computer skills – Microsoft Outlook and Office programs
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate in an open, clear, precise and effective manner with customers, peers and management.
  • Initiative to learn and demonstrate positive behavior toward teamwork.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to fluently speak, read and write in English.
  • Ability to travel, possibly international, up to 25% of the time, for durations as long as 3 weeks without returning home.
  • Flexibility with working hours
