Become part of the Social Community Services team at Bridgeways, a social enterprise agency that provides services that promote quality-of-life, facilitates growth, independence, and a sense of community for individuals with behavioral health conditions. Bridgeways is seeking a full-time Mental Health Alternatives Program Liaison to become part of our collaborative court diversion program encompassing Everett and Marysville. Designed for individuals with mental health and behavioral condition related misdemeanors, this MAP Liaison will join the court team consisting of judges, prosecutors and defense attorneys, and a peer advocate to focus on assessments and quicker entry into treatment as part of the diversion process.


Type & Pay: Full Time, non-exempt, paid biweekly. Salary range from $22.77 - 26.00 per hour.


Summary:

The Mental Health Alternatives Program (MAP) Liaison provides education, referral and coordination activities for the Bridgeways court programs. The liaison will work directly with participants in referring for substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health treatment and other needed services. The liaison will provide assistance to the participants in applying for Medicaid and other benefit programs while acting as a conduit of information between the MAP teams, identified participants, and service providers.


The MAP Liaison:

  • Works directly with the MAP participants to link them to available resources including but not limited to medical treatment, behavioral health services, substance use disorders (SUD) treatment, food assistance, housing, education, and employment services.
  • Works in partnership with the participant, the Court, the Prosecuting Attorney, the Defense Attorney and a wide range of professionals and community-based service providers in an effort to minimize the participant’s’ involvement with the criminal justice system.
  • Attends court hearings and presents information related to the participant’s treatment, including any recommendations to the Court.
  • Participates in meetings and case conferences with treatment professionals, community service providers and court personnel to discuss participant progress and develop and update the goal plan as needed. Provides group social and education services to participants.
  • Attends and participates in the MAP workgroup meetings.
  • Understands and practices safekeeping of participants’ protected health information per Bridgeways’ HIPAA policies and procedures.
  • Documents care in electronic medical records (EMR) in accordance with agency, contractual and state guidelines.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field from a nationally accredited school. Strong understanding of available community resources, strong screening skills. Experience working with a court team, judge and or legal counsel preferred.


LANGUAGE SKILLS Must have both excellent verbal and written communication skills.


REASONING Ability Successful in organizing, prioritizing, and problem solving. Be flexible to intervene on a moment’s notice and have proven ability to problem solve, and seek assistance from appropriate community agencies as necessary.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid Washington State Driver's License required. Agency Affiliated Counselors Credential.
