Technical Instructional Designer and Trainer

The Technical Instructional Designer and Trainer will design, develop and deliver technical trainings in a matrix environment for various internal and external stakeholders. This person will partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to assess training needs and deliver impactful and effective learning experiences using a variety of delivery methods (in person, virtual, and web-based) with measurable results. Experience in instructional design (self-paced and in-person), needs assessments, development of training materials and facilitation (in person and virtual), and familiarity or willingness to learn web-based learning design software are necessary.
Essential Functions
- Collaborate with cross functional team members and SME’s to define and document learning objectives.
- Design and develop technical and soft skills trainings using a variety of methods including in person, virtual and self-paced/online learning to optimize learning across various target audiences
- Facilitate virtual and in-person training
- Conduct train the trainers and coach on facilitation best practices
- Utilize various formats including group discussions, lectures, simulations, and videos.
- Evaluates learning effectiveness using the 4 levels of measurement
- Ensure trainings and materials meet ADA regulations
- Update and maintain master training files
- Create and maintain knowledge base
- Performs other related duties as needed.
Competencies
- Experience with Instructional Design
- Experience with e-learning software, LMS, knowledge bases, and other related software supporting trainings
- Experience with Articulate or similar products
- Experience with assessment tools, data collection and analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and facilitation skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable delivering training programs to both internal teams and customers.
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Comfortable working in a collaborative environment.
- Strongly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual learning platforms such as Zoom and Webex.
- Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, or a related field preferred.
- Instructional Design Certification
- At least three years of corporate training experience required specifically both technical and professional development areas.
- At least three years of instructional design experience required.
- Experience with non-profit human service agencies preferred.
- Experience creating trainings that are ADA compliant
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and scanners.

Travel is required for this position within Massachusetts.
