The Logistics Account manager will be directly responsible for communicating with all customers/dealers on the status of their product orders to include scheduling deliveries, report shipping methods/routes, provide shipping updates, backorder status, and changes to delivery schedules, while tracking delivery performance. Directly responsible for ensuring that cross-functional teams provide real-time information on all orders making it available to the customer, providing extraordinary customer experience making sure that all product orders are delivered accurately and on a timely matter. This role also involves communicating effectively with drivers ensuring live updates are reported to our customers/dealers.


  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with account contacts.
  • Provide superior customer service to customers/dealers by providing the necessary delivery status and information of each product order accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the dispatching, tracking and tracing of shipments with carriers once loaded and relaying information to customers, to ensure issues are resolved timely and customers updated.
  • Must provide weekly shipping reports to customers summarizing status reports for each shipment.
  • Operate as the lead point of contact for all matters specific to customers assigned.
  • Quickly adapt to customer needs to deliver and advocate for an excellent experience.
  • Responsible for maintaining existing customer relationships with the goal of growing the volume of business with key customers
  • Effectively communicate with the sales team and collaborate on areas of improvement
  • Communicate with customers via email and phone, including customer inquiries, complaints, and requests in a professional, courteous, and timely manner.
  • Must be able to make data-driven decisions that impact each delivery including reallocating delivery of orders to meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Efficiently schedule and dispatch appointments of truck deliveries for our Rockledge and Simpsonville locations to ensure timely pickups and deliveries with each customer/dealer.
  • Relay critical information between drivers, customers, and other relevant parties.
  • Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including driver logs, delivery schedules, and customer interactions.
  • Prepare, compile, sort, and scan documents for data entry.
  • Comply with data integrity and security policies.
  • Collaborate with other internal departments to streamline operations and improve service quality.
  • Assist in the resolution of transportation-related issues with internal and external trucks such as delays, accidents, or equipment malfunctions.
  • Support Logistics manager in providing support and guidance to drivers as needed to ensure adherence to company standards and procedures.
  • Responsible for effective communication with Management as needed to update situations, express concerns, and gain insight in any unknown areas of responsibility
  • Perform other duties as necessary to support the team.
  • Sporadic weekend work may be necessary to support our customers
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and and have excellent decision making skills that support the best interest of the customer


Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or higher required, additional training or certification in transportation management is a plus
  • Must have competent understanding of how transportation systems operate, including order process, updates, and claim management.
  • Proven 5-7 years of experience in transportation dispatching or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competent understanding of company software and knowledge of order processing and reporting
  • Proficient in MS Office (i.e., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and TMS.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Find creative problem-solving solutions.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment and be comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and customer needs.

Working Relationship

Communication is required across all levels of the organization – executive team, other functional leaders, and production floor workers. The Transportation Dispatcher works under the immediate supervision of the Director of Transportation and directly manages the communication between customers/dealers and our both EC & DC locations.

Safety

This position expects to adhere to all safety rules to include the use of all required protective personal equipment (PPE). Specifically, eye and hearing protection must be worn at all times while on the production floor.
