Role Overview:

The Admissions Assistant works closely with the Director of Admissions on all aspects of the admissions process, including visit days, student and parent interviews, and recruitment events. The Admissions Assistant must have strong organization, interpersonal, and communication skills and an alignment with and commitment to Covenant’s mission. This position requires 20 hours each week between September through June.

  • Serve as a model of Covenant’s core values and positively engage with applicants and their families.
  • Possess excellent time management skills, including managing multiple demands simultaneously while maintaining a spirit of collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong skills in using technology to advance Admissions tasks and achieve student recruitment goals.
  • Be experienced in working with sensitive information and possess the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Preferred but not required: Experience with Veracross Student Information System

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding of and familiarity with the Grammar, Logic and Rhetoric school programs and environment at Covenant.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all prospective families by phone and email and provide individualized, sincere, and timely customer service in all interactions and correspondence from point of inquiry through enrollment.
  • Organize applicant files and follow up as needed to complete files.
  • Read and interpret academic transcripts, teacher evaluations, and standardized test scores.
  • Coordinate with faculty to organize, plan, and support prospective student visits and academic screenings.
  • Work alongside the Director of Admissions to interview applicants and their families.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with Covenant’s administrators, Registrar, Business Office, Marketing and Advancement team, and Head of School.
  • Report regularly to the Director of Admissions on admissions and enrollment management.
  • Participate in “after hours” events aimed at recruitment and retention that will count toward weekly hours.
  • Contribute to the building and growing of the International Student Program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
