Extraction Assistant

Our Extraction Assistant is primarily responsible for assisting with the day-to-day extraction activities, including but not limited to, packing material socks, operating extraction equipment, filtering cannabis oil, and disposing of waste at the direction of the Extraction Manager. The Extraction Assistant will be responsible for a support role to ensure efficient extraction with ethanol, hydrocarbons, and water.

Your role in caring for our company:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Daily preparation of plant material for extraction.
  • Consistently maintain extraction equipment and laboratory spaces to the highest standards of cleanliness.
  • Assist technicians in operating machinery in accordance with all operational and safety guidelines.
  • Take instructions and assist on all tasks assigned by the Extraction Manager.
  • Assist with ethanol, hydrocarbon and solventless extraction.
  • General manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.
  • Assist the Inventory Department in maintaining organization within lab storage areas.
  • Dispose of waste according to established guidelines.
  • Work cohesively with various departments and provides operational support when deemed necessary and approved by management.
  • Complete duties on time and willingness to accept additional job duties and responsibilities.
  • Maintain open communication with the management team and other co-workers about daily production output.
  • Must be comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures from 55&degree;-85&degree;.

All other duties as necessary.

Qualifications we ask you to have:

  • For legal reasons, all employees need to be at least 21 years of age.
  • You will be asked to pass a Federal and State criminal history background check.
  • We ask that you have at least a high school diploma/GED.
  • We ask that you have basic computer skills.

Addition skills which will help you excel in your role:

  • Excellent observational and record-keeping skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, our plants are very delicate throughout their lifecycle
  • Desire and ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
  • Maintain open communication with the management team and other co-workers.
  • Strong work ethic; must be accountable and proactive.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace in a high production environment
  • We ask that you do not have allergies to plant materials or nitrile gloves; this position requires daily exposure to cannabis plants and nitrile gloves.

Work Schedule/Location:

  • On-site 5 days a week.

  • This position requires the extended and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects.
  • This position requires the ability to work in a cannabis growing facility, there will be strong odors, bright lights, and various noises throughout the workday.
  • This position will require PPE to be worn throughout the workday to include scrubs, masks, gloves, and hairnets while working with the plants. DCM will provide scrubs, gloves, and hair nets to all employees.
