The Athletic Operations Coordinator & Volleyball Program Director would assist the Athletic Department in coaching, sports promotion and daily operations and logistics. In addition, it would serve as academic support as needed.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Athletic Operations:

  • Enter and maintain school databases relating to athletic department needs
  • Update and ensure accuracy of the website to reflect schedule changes
  • Support additional athletic department administrative needs as assigned
  • Support the Assistant Director and department in setting up and organizing special events.
  • Support the athletic department with the onboarding of new coaches
  • Van driving support as needed
  • Support the findings and project management of the athletic task force

Sports Promotion:

  • St. Luke’s School athletic content creation & distribution
  • Social media management
  • SLS community engagement
  • Collaboration with MarCom ensuring alignment with SLS branding
  • Stay updated on competitor activities and trends in sports promotion, social media, and digital marketing to enhance strategies and tactics.

Volleyball Program:

  • Serve as an inspiring leader for our student athletes, cultivating and leading the growth and development of the program from grades 5-12, overseeing the development of the middle school program.
  • Run all program elements including pre-season practices, tryouts, regular season practices, and coaching all home and away games through post-season play.
  • Represent the school and program at all league and conference meetings.
  • Provide instruction and coaches students to develop the skills necessary to excel at volleyball.
  • Coaches and instructs players, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
  • Develop game strategy
  • Work with the College Counseling Department to cultivate relationships with and represent our school and program with college coaches.
  • Work with the Admissions Department to represent the school and program to prospective student-athletes.
  • Manage the practice schedule for all teams.
  • Utilize social media appropriately to highlight St. Luke’s volleyball program.
  • Follows established procedures for the proper care, maintenance, and requisitioning of equipment,supplies, and uniforms.
  • In conjunction with the Athletic Department - manages equipment.
  • Manage coaching staff to enforce policy and appropriate team culture.
  • Communicate plans for practices and contests with student-athletes, families and coaches.
  • Work with our athletic training staff to ensure the health and safety of all student-athletes at all times
  • Manage Hudl and share game film with student athletes, as a recruiting tool.
  • Assesses player’s skills and assigns positions.
  • Work with BlueStreak and strength coach to ensure proper supervision and appropriate goals for strength and conditioning development.
  • Manage team manager duties and communicate effectively with involved students.
  • Utilize Athletic Director and department effectively as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Academic:

  • Teach up to 1 class per semester
  • Provide academic support
  • Serve as a MS or US co-advisor

Key Skills & Qualities

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred
  • Must hold or be willing to obtain CPR certification and class A driving endorsement
  • Skilled in working with student-athletes and athletic teams
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills
  • Demonstrates quality, accuracy, and professionalism
  • Builds relationships and culture through effective communication
  • Strong cultural competency skills, with demonstrated commitment to furthering the creation of an equitable and inclusive school community that supports a strong sense of belonging
