OVERVIEW

The Matching Grant Program is designed to help refugees overcome barriers and quickly find jobs. This position is a dual role that will assist eligible clients with securing employment as well as gaining access to socio-economic services. The Case Manager for the Matching Grant program will provide support and case management to recently resettled refugees and work with refugee clients to access employability services, including English language assessment and training, transportation, and other services required to remove barriers to self-sufficiency. The position will be reporting to the Employment Programs Manager in Raleigh, NC.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•Provide case management and training related to employability and self-sufficiency.

•Develop self-sufficiency plans for clients.

•Provide cultural orientation information.

•Orient refugee clients to community resources.

•Develop employment prospects by conducting outreach to employers and employment agencies; facilitate partnerships and recruit new placements opportunities.

•Meet with service providers, landlords, and employers to inform them of organizational program services, negotiate linkages, and provide follow-up services to determine the success of the participants preferred.

•Make referrals to internal and external services to remove barriers to self-sufficiency.

•Work to connect clients with supportive community networks and support systems to ensure their long-term integration in the community.

•Ensure that refugees are being served in a linguistically and culturally appropriate manner and provide education and advocacy when necessary.

•Maintain case files.

•Submit written reports as required; and

•Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelor’s degree in social work, communications, or related field.
  • Fluency in Haitian Creole and/or Spanish is preferred.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with staff of diverse cultural and language backgrounds
  • Experience in case management, social work, or working with refugee populations preferred.
  • Ability to develop and maintain partnerships with local employers.
  • Good written and verbal command of English.
  • Ability to work as a team member and independently, with a high level of self-motivation required.
  • Proactive communicator and able to work closely with a team
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including keen listening ability and relationship building.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, insurance, clean driving record, and personal transportation; and
  • Must be ready to travel from Raleigh to connect with service providers, and employers, and serve clients in Wayne, Lenoir, and Greene Counties.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

•Satisfactory Completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training.

•Satisfactory completion of annual mandatory training; and

•Complete additional training as identified by supervisor(s), program director, or Human Resources.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

•Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.

•Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.

•Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.

•Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements); and
