Purchasing Coordinator - Construction

Sarasota, FL - (Applicants within a reasonable commute to Sarasota, FL area preferred)

Currently looking for a Purchasing Coordinator for a construction service/installation contractor. This is a permanent, full-time position, Monday to Friday – 7:30am to 4pm. WE have EXTREMELY competitive hourly compensation based on experience, full health benefits and paid leave.

For over 40 years, our client is one of the premier distributors and full-service contractors of impact windows and doors in Florida. The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for processing orders and purchasing products accurately and efficiently according to the order packet provided. Experience with vendor relations, quality control of orders including documentation, signature and pricing.

Ideal candidates should have previous purchasing and ordering experience in construction preferred. Ability to identify errors and resolve discrepancies, be able to problem solve with little supervision. Excellent communication and organizational skills, able to multitask. Be professional and well spoken. Able to work independently without being micromanaged.

To qualify you must have the following:

  • High School Diploma or GED or relative work experience.
  • Ability to pass a background and drug screen.
  • Previous purchasing and ordering experience; Construction background is a PLUS.
  • Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Proficient in data analysis and problem solving.
  • Proficient with software programs such as Outlook, Excel, WORD and various web-based platforms.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with employees and vendor contacts
