Pace Academy, an independent college preparatory school in Atlanta, Georgia, with an enrollment of 1115 students in pre-first through twelfth grades, has an opening for the 2024-25 gymnastics season.
REPORTS TO:
Director of Athletics
Varsity Gymnastics Coach
WORK HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:
A part-time, mid-January to early-April seasonal appointment. Responsibilities include on-campus practices (2 hours per commitment) on Monday-Friday and five meets (a combination of on/off-campus). All coaches are employed on an annual basis and continued employment is based on a seasonal review conducted by the Director of Athletics/gymnastics head coach.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working closely with the gymnastics head coach, the assistant gymnastics coach is responsible for supporting various aspects of the gymnastics program. The coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Pace Academy and Georgia High School Athletics (GHSA).
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
• Possess and maintain a coaching philosophy that is in accordance with the mission of Pace Academy
• A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept;
• Gymnastics coaching experience and understanding of NFHS gymnastics rules/etiquette;
• Effective leadership, coaching, and recruiting skills;
• Good communication skills with players, parents, and the Athletics Department;
• Energetic, creative, self-motivated, and a team player.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Team coaching with the coaching staff daily;
• Represent Pace Academy and the gymnastics program in a professional manner and within the bounds of good sportsmanship.
This is an exempt position that is paid a coaching stipend for the season
