Job Summary:
- Spearhead innovative pharmacy clinical programs.
- Directly contribute to formulary management, policy development, and educational initiatives.
- Act as a key player in managing the pharmacy in the absence of the Pharmacy Director.
- Drive initiatives to improve facility efficiency and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze drug utilization reviews to promote rational drug therapy.
- Provide clinical consultation to medical staff, offering cost-effective therapeutic alternatives.
- Develop, manage, and mentor pharmacy clinical programs like anticoagulant monitoring and pain management.
- Oversee the reporting of adverse drug reactions and medication errors.
- Participate in various nursing and medical staff committees.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or Pharm D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy (Doctor of Pharmacy preferred).
- Minimum of 1 year as a Pharmacy Clinical/Operations Specialist.
- At least 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience (management experience preferred).
- PGY2 pharmacy specialty residency or fellowship (preferred).
- Specialty BCPS certification, ACLS or other relevant certification (preferred).
- Active Pharmacist license in good standing.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Meditech, and other relevant software.
- Acute care pharmacy experience is a must.
