Our client, a leading energy services company, is currently seeking an R&D Technician for their Houston-based R&D Center.
PURPOSE: Support the entire R&D staff in transitioning projects from R&D to production and maintain products in the post-rollout phase.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspects, rebuilds, operates, tests, and troubleshoots tools.
- Monitors, evaluates, and adjusts processes or equipment to maximize quality and efficiency.
- Operates equipment and materials following OEM guidelines as well as standard operating procedures.
- Assists the R&D Lead Technician in evaluating tools using various mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic tests and measurements.
- Completes records and associated documentation for work performed. All duties are performed in accordance with applicable safety guidelines, as well as appropriate processing standards.
- Checks critical dimensions and features on parts received from vendors.
- General shop maintenance, including but not limited to shop organization and cleanliness.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Some travel required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Degree Field(s): N/A
- Work Experience: 2-4 years
- Supervisory Experience: Not Applicable
- Related Experience: Technical or industrial experience with electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic experience preferred
- Ability to communicate and interpret a variety of oral and written instructions
- Ability to work independently
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving history
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent
- Degree Field(s): Engineering, Technology, or related area of study
- Work Experience: 4+ years
- Supervisory Experience: Not Applicable
- Related Experience: Relevant experience as a service technician in the energy industry, automotive repair/maintenance, electromechanical repair/maintenance beneficial
- Candidate who is eager to work, pays keen attention to detail, is able to follow directions, and is not about to communicate opportunities of improvement as they see fit.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Precise hand/eye coordination: Constantly
- Basic keyboarding or other repetitive motions: Frequently
- Operation of heavy equipment or operation of vehicles: Occasionally
- Lifting/pushing objects weighing over 50 lbs: Frequently
- Climbing and working in awkward and cramped positions: Occasionally
PAY RANGE:
- Hourly + OT Eligible
- Hourly Range: $23.00 – $30.00
