Some healthcare claims can be repriced without engaging the patient directly, while others require the patient to send us further information and documentation. As a Patient Engagement Specialist, you will work to support our claims analysis team by handling direct patient communication. This will be done mainly through phone calls and may require a series of attempts to reach the patient. You will manage and track your workload and keep detailed case notes using our claims system. It is important to exhibit excellent customer service and professionalism while conducting these communications.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with members/vendor partners/healthcare providers and facilities.
  • Assist in building strategies for more efficient workflows for the claims analysis team.
  • Ensure and maintain HIPAA compliance within patient engagement.
  • Provide accurate information to patients and the claims analysis team.
  • Problem-solving member issues
  • Document case activity.
  • Collaborate with coworkers.
  • Enhance care/cost data resources.
  • Use technology to research and manage cases.
  • Share input on ways to enhance processes.
  • Continuously learn and adapt.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Calm and professional phone presence
  • Able to work some nights until 8 PM Eastern Time
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications (Outlook/Word/Excel)
  • Comfortable learning/using additional software applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Time management and strong organizational skills
  • Passionate about learning
  • Strong work ethic
  • Enjoys working with and helping people
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, while successfully managing multiple projects to completion.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, not required
  • 1 -2 years of work experience in healthcare, insurance, or medical billing preferred, not required
  • Bilingual with ability to read, write and speak Spanish proficiently preferred

Benefits

  • Base Salary: $45,000 +
  • Highlight Health offers an attractive benefits package, with healthcare cost reimbursement, paid time off, commuting benefits, short term disability, an employer 401(k) contribution, and bonuses.
  • The Patient Engagement Specialist must work in-person at our Philadelphia office at least 4 days a week (after completion of training period).
