PURPOSE OF POSITION

Our Sr. Manager, Category Management & Trade Marketing, will help us develop these two essential Rana Meal Solutions organization parts. As a RANA Meal Solutions Team member, the Sr. Manager of Category Management & Trade Marketing will be responsible for developing best-in-class category management principles to apply to our growing categories. This position will assist us in accelerating strategic thought leadership internally and at our key Retail customers in the areas of Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, and Pricing. Additionally, this person will oversee and lead the implementation of a Trade Management system (TPM) within Rana Meal Solutions, with future responsibility to include the execution and implementation of annual trade strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive Best in Class Category Management principles as well as Consumer and Shopper Insights both internally and externally
  • Manage internal Category Management projects, collaborating with the Vice President of Sales and Director of Marketing
  • Work directly with Region Managers and key customers, developing customer-specific presentations relevant to consumer insights, competitive responses, and new item/category selling strategies
  • Provide strategic and tactical recommendations on Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, and Pricing goals to improve overall category performance
  • Actively lead and participate in the preparation of line reviews and reoccurring customer category reviews, JBP plans, and Top to Top meetings
  • Lead comprehensive understanding of plan-o-gram insights and assortment to help identify and drive strategic sales opportunities and customer growth objectives
  • Lead Launch and Implementation of TPM system for Rana Retail
  • Collaborate with the VP of Sales on the creation and implementation of the annual trade strategy
  • Assist the Vice President of Sales on major initiatives (annual planning, core void identification and closure, new item launches, budget reconciliation, and customer-specific growth projects)
  • Review customer promotional spending plans for effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance with guidelines and budgets
  • Other duties assigned

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 10+ years’ experience in Category Management
  • Experience with Trade Management systems in Consumer-Packaged Goods industry
  • IRI and Nielsen syndicated data experience required (Proficiency required)
  • Excel & PowerPoint expertise (Proficiency required)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES PREFERRED

  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently
  • Category, loyalty, & shopper knowledge
  • High degree of self-motivation and discipline
  • Strong time management, presentation, and communication skills (both written & verbal)
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of individuals inside & outside the organization and maintain regular contact with all stakeholders


Work Location: Hybrid remote in Bartlett, IL 60103
