They offer valuable information to our team concerning patient progress and observed barriers. Across Boomerang, our clinical teams comprise Physical Therapist Assistants, Physical Therapists, and/or Chiropractors. We employ an educationally based biopsychosocial treatment model to teach patients transferable skills for managing chronic pain conditions. Our trainers operate within a Functional Restoration Program within the Rehabilitation Services Program, collaborating with physical therapists and/or chiropractors to deliver care plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the physical therapist and/or chiropractors in carrying out treatment plans for individual clients and groups, which includes implementing exercises, modalities, and functional activities.
  • Educating patients on specific exercises and functional activities tailored to their needs and goals, ensuring they understand the purpose and correct execution of each activity.
  • Demonstrating a strong understanding and application of the biopsychosocial model in daily interactions with clients, emphasizing the physical, psychological, and social aspects of pain management.
  • Working effectively both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team to plan and implement treatment programs, collaborating with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Prioritizing client safety throughout all job duties, including proper technique instruction, equipment setup, and monitoring clients' response to exercise and activities, making necessary adjustments as needed.
  • Effectively communicating observations and insights with team members during weekly conferences, actively participating in discussions to improve client care and treatment plans.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely written documentation of observations in the electronic medical record as well as other shared files on a weekly basis, ensuring clarity and completeness of information.
  • Fostering a culture of compassion and gratitude with coworkers and clients, demonstrating empathy, respect, and positive interpersonal skills in all interactions.
  • Projecting confidence and professionalism in interactions with clients and team members, inspiring trust and instilling a sense of reassurance and motivation.
  • Conducting aftercare groups to reinforce physical maintenance and progression as well as functional skills and provide ongoing support to Functional Restoration Program graduates, facilitating discussions and activities to promote continued progress and self-management.
