BKC Kitchen and Bath of Colorado is an award-winning kitchen and bath design firm specializing in cabinetry, countertops, and related accessories for the home. With over 45 years in business, we are one of the leading cabinetry suppliers in the Denver-metro area.


The position is perfect for someone who has previously worked in a home design or renovation-related business (e.g. architecture, remodeling, kitchen, interior design), is comfortable working with numbers, is detail-oriented, and enjoys being a part of a collaborative, design-inspired business.


The person in this role will be responsible for coordinating and submitting cabinet and accessory orders in support of our design team.  The position requires an understanding of cabinetry manufacturers' catalogs, a commitment to accuracy, and superb communication skills. 


This qualified person will handle some bookkeeping tasks, including customer invoicing and weekly accounts payable processing.  The bookkeeping is expected to make up 20% of the workweek.



Job Responsibilities:

Purchasing:

  • Accurately review orders, submit orders, and check the status of orders in several different online ordering systems
  • Accurately create sales orders and purchase orders in company accounting system
  • Rapidly learn the offerings of multiple suppliers using their supplier catalogs
  • Review order acknowledgements for accuracy
  • Proactively communicate the status of orders with affected parties
  • Enter work service requests into online scheduling software
  • Call customers to schedule deliveries and service visits and make payment arrangements
  • Follow, develop, document, and revise written company procedures using a wiki software tool

Bookkeeping:

  • Create and send accurate invoices to customers
  • Receive and record payments in company accounting system
  • Complete daily bank deposit
  • Monitor customer overdue accounts
  • Create and manage vendors and customers in company accounting system
  • Collect vendor invoices, process bills, and remit payments


Required Skills:

  • Experience or training in a building or design-related field
  • Ability to interpret manufacturer specs, layouts, and measurements
  • Understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online
  • Skilled with Microsoft Windows and the Microsoft Office suite
  • Mathematical proficiency: quick and accurate in performing mental arithmetic without transposing numbers
  • Ability to read, write, understand and speak fluent English


Desired Skills:

  • Worked for a home design or renovation-related business (e.g., architecture, remodeling, kitchen, interior design)
  • Experience in a finance or accounting role


Reports to:

  • Director of Business Services
