JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist the bartenders in prep, service, side work, and closing duties- promptly and accurately.
  • Keep the bar area clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout the shift.
  • Wash and polish glassware, bar tools, and utensils.
  • Restock bar supplies, such as liquor, garnishes, and ice, in a timely manner.
  • Perform scheduled restroom checks
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in setting up and breaking down the bar area before and after service.
  • Handle customer inquiries and provide exceptional service to ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Collaborate with bartenders and servers to ensure efficient communication and smooth operations.
  • Creating a safe, fun, and clean work environment for the staff in a manner consistent with our core values and operational goals
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prior experience as a barback or in a similar hospitality role is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong team player with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to complete and possess a valid NC alcohol server certification within 30 days of hire
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Be able to be on your feet for 8-9 hours, reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 50 pounds.
SCHEDULE:
  • Available Tuesday through Sunday for a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Schedule flexibility will be valued as we grow Gussies and try to expand our opening hours.
