The Swift Group is looking for a Cloud Network Engineer who will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing web applications, cloud network infrastructures and services. This candidate will collaborate closely with our team to utilize a diverse set of technologies, including Ruby, Angular Rails, MySQL, SOLR, and more, to deliver robust and scalable solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in web development, cloud infrastructure management, and experience in meeting accessibility standards and ensuring data protection. This position is located in McLean, VA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement web applications and services using Ruby, Angular Rails, and other relevant technologies
  • Maintain and optimize back-end SQL databases, ensuring data integrity and performance
  • Manage Linux and Windows Cloud Server environments, including cloud-native scripting for infrastructure management
  • Utilize Splunk for log management and analysis, ensuring effective monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Ensure compliance with cross-domain solutions and AWS security requirements for data protection
  • Develop and maintain applications to meet accessibility standards, including Section 508 compliance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate customer applications using web services
  • Participate in the security and accreditation process, ensuring adherence to security requirements
  • Lead or support application migration to cloud services, leveraging cloud networking principles and best practices

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience

  • Work closely with Sponsor and PM to gather requirements and contribute to the development of network-related features.

  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing cloud-based solutions including Compute, Storage, Networking, Security, and Monitoring.

  • Demonstrated experience working across multi-cloud network environments.

  • Apply your solid foundation of cloud networking using VNET, VPC, VPNs, firewalls, routing tables, ExpressRoutes, Direct Connects, networking protocols, and peering.

  • Demonstrated experience with traffic engineering (AWS - VPC, transit gateway, CloudWatch and ELB) and (Azure - VNET, VPN gateway, Firewall, and Front Door).

  • Have an understanding of cloud security principles and best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, firewall configurations, and network security groups.

  • Participate in capacity planning, disaster recovery planning, and security audits.

  • Create detailed documentation of network designs and configurations.

  • Continuously monitor and analyze network performance metrics.

  • Stay abreast on latest cloud services, features, trends, and best practices and provide recommendations on their adoption.

  • Demonstrated experience with A&A workflows and tools.

  • Demonstrated experience with Sponsor's security requirements and systems.

  • Demonstrated experience monitoring system performance and recommending corrective action.

  • US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with security tools such as EC2, IDAM, Secrets Manager, or Health Check
  • Experience with basic project management principles
  • Experience integrating customer applications using web services
  • Experience with the security and accreditation process
  • Experience working both collaboratively and independently
  • Experience migrating an application to cloud services
  • Experience with JAVA, Spring Boot, and Hibernate
  • Experience with AI/ML methodologies and techniques
  • MA/MS Degree
