Position Title: Runaway and Homeless Youth Program Director

Livingston Family Center (LFC) is a private, non-profit agency that provides a continuum of services to children, youth, adults, and families throughout the Livingston County community. LFC operates an out-patient, mental health counseling office; street outreach, emergency shelter and transitional living program to runaway and homeless youth; community-based services to at-risk youth; and a supervised visitation and safe exchange center for families affected by domestic violence. 

 

Runaway and Homeless Youth Program Director Responsibilities:

The Director has strategic and daily operational responsibility for Livingston Family Center’s Connection Youth Services programs. Overall responsibilities include oversight and maintenance of existing programs and the development of new programs as determined by LFC’s Board of Directors.  

 

Position Requirements: 

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university in psychology, social work, or other human services related field. 
  • Five years of experience working with families and youth and two years of experience managing a human service program is preferred. 
  • Strong leadership skills that cultivates inclusion, diversity, equity of hiring, training, and supervising of employees, interns, and volunteers. 
  • Complete all required criminal checks and health screenings.  


Clinical Responsibilities:  

  • Oversee therapeutic quality of the program by direct supervision and monitoring of employees, case consultation, and client chart review. 
  • Responsible for overseeing annual training and orientation of all new and established employees, interns, and volunteers.  
  • Provide individual and family counseling and crisis intervention when necessary. 
  • Adhere to all documentation and reporting requirements. 
  • Support the program’s 24/7-line, including training and supervision of on-call staff. 

 




Leadership and Management: 

  • Responsible for meeting all building codes and licensing requirements including the emergency shelter Child Caring Institution License. 
  • Responsible for oversight, reporting, and attending meetings pertaining to program funders.  
  • Provide accurate statistical data for monthly, quarterly and annual reports including, but not limited to HMIS, RHY-HMIS, MDHHS quarterly and annual reports, Federal DHHS semi-annual reports, and United Way annual reports. 
  • Provide supervision and leadership guidance to TCYS employees, volunteers, and interns. 
  • Assist with maintaining program employee, intern, and volunteer personnel files. 
  • Conduct 90-day, 6-month, and annual employee performance reviews. 
  • Approve and submit time sheets and other human resource forms for all TCYS employees, interns, and volunteers. 
  • Coordination of scheduling for TCYS employees, interns, and volunteers. 
  • Facilitate weekly and monthly staff meetings with TCYS employees. 
  • Monthly (or more frequently as requested) supervision meetings with the Agency Executive Director. 
  • Adherence to all Livingston Family Center Policies and Procedures, Privacy Practices and TCYS Policies and Procedures. 
  • Coordinate building maintenance and supply inventory at TCYS locations. 
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the LFC Board of Directors or Executive Director.  

 

Authority:  The Runaway and Homeless Youth Program Director serves at the discretion of the Livingston Family Center’s Executive Director and the Livingston Family Center’s Board of Directors. The Executive Director shall approve all tasks performed by the Runaway and Homeless Youth Program Director and may be performed with the guidance and support of the same. Employment is at will.
