Responsibilities:
Source equipment, tools, programs, or services to meet specialized or complex asset management needs.
Make sourcing/purchasing recommendations in accordance with company procedures and regulations.
Analyze purchase requisitions and review for accuracy and completion.
Collaborate with department managers to clarify maintenance/calibration and departmental needs; refine specifications for accurate sourcing & planning of maintenance/calibration activities
Investigate and document new sources for equipment, tools, programs or services
Research and prepare bid specifications
Issue bid requests to several potential vendors and suppliers
Review quotes and secure the most competitive bids
Identify and select vendors and suppliers using criteria such as quantity and quality of commodities, price, and delivery
date
Explain and clarify sourcing/ purchasing procedures to internal departments as well as vendors
Determine the correct method to process purchase orders according to total cost, timeliness, competitive bidding, and
existing contracts.
Place orders to procure requisitioned items or services according to delegation and specific parameters to abide to
Process purchasing transactions according to local, state, and federal policies and procedures
Solve problems with orders in an efficient and timely manner.
Plan and schedule maintenance/calibration/replacement of assets
Document deviations to standard sourcing, planning, and sourcing issues and solve in alignment to Laboratory Asset Lead and Asset Management Director
Qualifications Requirements/Knowledge/Education/Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Industrial engineering or related field.
In lieu of degree, 2-year college technical school 10+ years of experience required or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in the sciences or engineering field which provides the requisite knowledge, skills,and abilities for this job.
