Position Overview:

The CAD Drafter - Level 3, you will be responsible for producing comprehensive computer-aided drafting (CAD) documentation encompassing technical, architectural, and mechanical drawings utilizing AutoDesk AutoCAD and/or Revit software. This role involves collaborating with designers and internal teams to document and implement technical solutions for various installations. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in mentoring and training the local CAD staff on a daily basis. The Level 3 CAD Drafter will also facilitate drawing exchanges with architects and provide assistance to designers in resolving architectural design issues.


Requirements:

  • Associate degree in technology or equivalent work experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • AutoDesk AutoCAD Certified User credential from a recognized training center.
  • 6+ years’ experience in 2D and 3D CAD work, with proficiency in Revit.
  • AVIXA CTS certification within one year of hire.
  • Strong computer skills, including Windows and MS Office.
  • Ability to multitask, manage projects with minimal supervision, and remain professional under deadline pressures.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Detail-oriented with good eye/hand coordination and ability to remain seated for extended periods.


Responsibilities:

  • Translate AV/IT design concepts into detailed plans, including notes, elevations, and electrical layouts.
  • Coordinate drawing exchanges with architects and assist with architectural design issues.
  • Supervise CAD subcontractors and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Monitor CAD budgets and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Attend vendor classes and seminars to stay updated on product knowledge.
  • Maintain CAD drafting standards and provide ongoing training to the team.
  • Participate in Engineering and Systems meetings and adhere to safety standards.
