iTrust Wellness Group, LLC is looking for an actively certified medical assistant to work in an outpatient mental health office setting. An ideal candidate has a strong interest in mental health, a desire to learn, and a passion for providing excellent patient care in a collaborative, team-focused environment. Both experienced and newer medical assistants are welcome to apply to this position. We are a rapidly growing office and are looking for a medical assistant that is interested in utilizing the latest research, technology, and practice guidelines in an effort to achieve wellness for our clientele.
Responsibilities:
The medical assistant role is a mixture of administrative tasks with a heavy focus in clinical care coordination, fulfilling various requirements in these categories:
- Coordinating the success of patient care by promptly handling incoming and outgoing client communication, documenting such communication accordingly.
- Gaining proficiency with the EMR system to improve client experience
- Completing prior authorization requests for medications
- Preparing and giving injectable medications to clients
- Ordering and managing inventory of sample medications and specialty medications
- Collecting vital signs
- Administering clinical testing, including UDS panels and Genesight swabs
- Communicating with other offices and pharmacies regarding medications and other aspects of care coordination
- Properly scheduling and rescheduling appointments for clients
- Checking out clients by scheduling future appointments and collecting payment
- Collaborating with administrative staff and providers as a team
- Maintaining our company culture and upholding our company values
- Assist with staffing needs at other iTrust Wellness Group offices as applicable
- Maintains active certification
- All other tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant as required by state laws. Certification must remain active and in good standing.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support
- Active certification as a Medical Assistant
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain working relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to prioritize needs and plan work accordingly.
- Knowledge of HIPAA
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with or interest in working with the mental health community
- Experience with an EMR system
- Experience with Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, and Teams
- Prior experience operating within a private practice/outpatient setting
