Position Summary:


The Peer Support Coordinator is responsible for overseeing direct peer volunteers who provide daily support at Sanford Recovery Community Center (SRCC), including telephone recovery support and recovery coaching.  The Peer Support Coordinator helps assure a safe and welcoming environment that reflects SRCC values and promotes a recovery-focused tone and culture. The Peer Support Coordinator helps manage scheduling and data management, ensuring accurate, organized records. This position is responsible for supporting and expanding volunteer opportunities at the center, growing the recovery coaching and telephone Recovery support programs. The coordinator is responsible for training, recruitment, supervision, developing referral networks, and data collection. The coordinator also ensures quality assurance of the recovery coaching services provided at SRCC via volunteer training and supervision.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provide leadership for direct peer volunteers who provide daily support at SRCC;
  • Schedule, train and oversee volunteers for front desk check-in, telephone reception, new member greeting and tours, and cleaning and upkeep of center.
  • Recruit volunteer Recovery Coaches capable of delivering a quality service to individuals seeking and in recovery from addiction
  • Oversee TRS (Telephone Recovery Support) program, including the training and direct supervision of volunteers for efficient and effective operation
  • Serve as a positive role model, providing individual support for recoverees, volunteers, and family members.
  • Assist with coverage of the center duties when volunteers are unavailable due to openings, vacations, illness, or holidays
  • Collaborate with individuals and/or organizations such as law enforcement, healthcare and other community resources and systems in region to establish working relationships and systems of referral and engagement with recovery coaches
  • Establish and follow written protocols for access to Recovery Coaches with community resources based on the unique needs and practices of each resource
  • Provide quality assurance with each provider and community resource a minimum of once per quarter
  • Provide Coachervision to Recovery Coaches
  • Perform data-related functions to ensure reporting requirements are met

 

Reports to: Program Manager

 

Supervises: Volunteers

 

Professional Qualifications:

  • Lived experience in recovery preferred and passion for supporting others in recovery
  • Strong knowledge of field of recovery and respect and regard for multiple pathways
  • Skills to collaborate with and motivate coaches and volunteers
  • Warm, personable approachable; ability to work with diverse people
  • Strong communication skills; ability to listen well and speak effectively
  • Ability to work collaboratively with community resources
  • Ability to manage and disseminate information effectively
  • Team player with high professional standards, positive attitude and flexibility
  • Candidate must have completed the following trainings at the time of hire or complete within 60 days of hire: Recovery Coach Academy
  • Candidate must have completed the following trainings at time of hire, or complete within 120 days of hire: Ethical Considerations for Recovery Coaches and Coachervision
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive

 

Work Schedule:

This is a part-time position. Occasional travel required
