Inventory and Receiving Associate

Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods is seeking to hire an Inventory and Receiving Associate at our Fresh Kitchen located at 600-A Southlake Boulevard. The available shift is 9:00am - 5:30pm with some overtime and weekends required.
Position Summary
The Inventory and Receiving associate is responsible for shipping and receiving products in and out of the central kitchen. The successful candidate will have a strong ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions. In addition, the candidate must also be able to perform basic arithmetic to execute duties described above, possesses a strong understanding of the organization, and be able to provide immediate responses to customer inquiries.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintaining positive communications with the 430 Logistics, Transportation Departments
- Maintaining positive relationships with departments and delivery drivers
- Maintain high sanitation standards and follow a daily cleaning schedule
- Loading and unloading trailers using an electric pallet jack and forklift
- Ensuring products received are distributed to the correct warehouse location
- Meeting departure time of transportation Facilitating products throughout the kitchen to appropriate departments
- Restocking production departments with packaging supplies
- Applying internal lot codes to all incoming food and packaging cases
- Supports GFSI and FSMA. Assists in ensuring that the SQF system is in place and that we follow all aspects of HACCP plan, SSOPs, and GMPs throughout the plant. Reports all food safety issues to an immediate supervisor
- Supports an accident-free work culture. When developing, or modifying production processes, assists in accident prevention and risk identification. Collaborates with HR/Safety Manager to minimize risk exposure from ingredient, equipment, or ergonomics
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Two to five years of food service or food manufacturing experience is preferred
- Experience working in perishable manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred
