ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

Comtech Systems, Inc (CSI) is looking for SATCOM Terminal Remote Monitoring (STRMM) Engineer candidates who will be responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and supporting LAN, WAN and VoIP infrastructures. Provide high-level technical support for voice and data network systems, creates, and maintains network documentation, maintains hardware and software standards, and works projects as needed to upgrade to new and/or improved communication equipment and procedures. Manage the software supporting the SMC. Manage the other network engineers supporting the network. Candidates will be expected to work with a spirit of cooperation and must exhibit a tenacious work ethic while possessing the drive and critical thinking to excel in potentially tumultuous conditions.

  • Prefer candidates with a valid US passport.
  • Must have an active, current Secret Clearance.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

All candidates will perform the following duties:

  • Provide experience with Global Security Systems (GSS), Access Control entry (ACE), Wireless, Riverbeds, Infoblox.
  • Provide in-depth knowledge of complex LAN/WAN communications, network hardware such as Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, bridges, gateways, and firewalls.
  • Provide in-depth knowledge of routing protocols such as RIP, EIGRP, BGP and OSPF.
  • Provide strong understanding and practical experience with technologies like Multi-Schedule Private Line Service Tariffs (MPLS), Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS), MLA Virtual Private Network (VPNs) and Traffic Engineering Duties involve among others, management of local and wide area network, projects, and installation of new devices, system and on-going maintenance of infrastructure. Provide working knowledge of all the software supporting the SMC as it is stated in the contract.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

All candidates will have the following minimum skills:

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in IT customer support.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a military environment.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of managerial experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally with diverse audiences, internally and externally to foster strong teamwork.
  • Work well independently or as a member of a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, OR fiftteen (15) total years of recent specialized experience.

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in maintaining certifications related to the requirement of the position.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

All candidates will have the following required certification(s):

  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Security+
  • CompTIA Network+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
