The Property Accountant will be detail oriented and responsible for managing the financial requirements of an assigned property portfolio with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the collection of rent from commercial tenants through various channels including online payments, checks and direct deposits.
  • Posting payments to tenant accounts in property management software (AMSI).
  • Reviewing and approving accounts payable for the assigned portfolio.
  • Administering loan payments in accordance with loan agreements and payment schedules.
  • Processing client distributions while complying with internal policies.
  • Preparing and maintaining monthly accounting records and financial reports for the assigned property portfolio.
  • Lease administration ensuring accurate and timely billing of rent/NNN and compliance with lease terms.
  • Conduct regular audits/reconciliations to ensure compliance with accounting standards and lease documents.
  • Budgeting and forecasting with the property management team to develop and maintain accurate property budgets.
  • Collaborating with property management team to analyze financial performance.
  • Providing analysis and insights to support decision-making efforts.
  • Written and verbal communication with clients, tenants and lenders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business.
  • Previous experience in property management accounting preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
