The Position:

We are seeking a people-focused Leasing Consultant for our new, mid-rise affordable community - Polaris at SeaTac. Through relationship selling, the Leasing Consultant will ensure the highest level of occupancy in the community. You will be responsible for building a strong rapport with our prospective and current residents.

  • Practice professional and relational leasing techniques by connecting with prospective residents through phone calls, emails, walk-ins, and appointments.
  • Listen with intent while gathering information from prospective residents to design an individualized experience for each tour that will best fit their needs.
  • Provide meaningful and targeted follow-ups to potential residents.
  • Show available apartments to prospective residents and conduct move-in orientations with new residents.
  • Conduct welcoming and informative move-in orientations for new residents.
  • Maintain a community culture focused on enhancing our residents’ way of life while providing excellent customer service and a supportive home environment.
  • Support the community by hosting and participating in resident events and activities.
  • Maintain accurate records, including leasing records, rentable items, resident and property activities, etc.
  • Complete a thorough application, background check, credit check, and compliance certification; ensure all prospective residents are approved prior to move-in.
  • Ensure timely collection of rents and other income due.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales to understand current marketing and sales programs while also keeping an active gauge on local competition and market conditions.
  • Observe the condition of the grounds, buildings and model apartment homes on a regular basis and report any irregularities or maintenance needs to the Community Director.
  • Assist residents with the reporting and recording of maintenance needs.
  • Assist Community Director with various tasks as requested.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all Fair Housing laws.

What We Are Seeking:

A relational and influential Leasing Consultant who can build strong rapport and effectively engage with prospective and current residents, while working cohesively with community team members.

  • Must be a team player who takes a ‘we’ over ‘me’ approach to building and sustaining relationships with others.
  • Must be determined, ambitious, and self-motivated.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred experience in residential property management, retail, sales, or customer service.
  • Familiarity with affordable housing programs (LIHTC, HUD, etc.) is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills; must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office, Google-Suite, property management software (i.e., Yardi, On-Site), and CRM solutions.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • High School diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • Valid driver’s license and insured, operable vehicle.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive pay starting at $24-$26/hr (based on experience).

  • Noise: frequent exposure to typical office environment noise levels including conversational voice levels; infrequent exposure to high-volume office equipment (e.g., shredder).
  • Pace of Work: great, multi-tasking/pressure paced environment.
  • Driving: exposure to environmental and safety conditions related to operating a motor vehicle, including the possibility of bodily injury related to motor vehicle collisions.
