Description

As a Wire 3 Directional Drill Operator, you will be the foreman in charge of the crew. Your Team will be the face of Wire 3 in the communities that we intend to serve and responsible for providing the homeowners the best experience possible working in or around their property.

This is a full-time hourly position, expected to work at least 40 hours per week. This position operates in an outdoor environment and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including rain, humidity, high temperatures, and high wind. The outside work environment will vary throughout the day including changes in terrain, traffic, urban settings, and/or rural settings. Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels. This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and/or 49 CFR Part 199.

Requirements

  • Safely operate any assigned equipment.
  • Advanced directional drill experience.
  • A good driving record is required.
  • Class A Commercial Driver’s License is a plus (Higher wage scales apply to CDL holders).
  • Ability to properly clean and maintain the equipment, check fluid levels, and conduct a visual inspection of vehicle/equipment to assure your vehicle/equipment is performing at optimum safety, perform the required pre-trip, post trip inspections and the required reports.
  • Load material or equipment for transport from show-up yard to job site and secure as appropriate.
  • Participate in job hazard analysis on daily basis or as often as conditions change.
  • Ensure safety of the public and other utilities underground facilities.
  • Ability to Read and Comprehend utility locates.
  • Set equipment up including the drill, water tanks and grounding the machine.
  • Ability to properly formulate and mix drilling mud for the site conditions.
  • Ability to perform proper reaming and pull back methods for existing conditions.
  • Oversee laborers and/or crew members work and monitor time usage.
  • Willing and able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Place, remove or maintain underground utilities as directed. This includes laborer duties such as carrying pipe, bags of material and other heavy items, jack hammering, shoveling, tamping and installing pipe, duct or cable.
  • Assist in securing work site, equipment and materials at the end of each shift to ensure public safety and safety of equipment and materials
  • Prepare documents, reports or job aids related to work, equipment and safety as assigned.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
