Job DescriptionJob Description

British Precision is a family-owned business located in Glastonbury, CT that has been around since 1975. We are seeking experienced Machinists, Set-up/Operator/Programmers to join our team. The ideal candidates would have experience in Set-up, Operation and Programming of CNC Mills and or Lathes, knowledge of Mastercam and be familiar with Fanuc controls.

Job Requirements:

  • Candidates must be able to work independently with minimum supervision and be quality conscious.
  • Ability to read blueprints and inspect their own work, using standard measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, gauges.
  • Working primarily on close tolerance commercial parts made from Aluminum, Brass, Stainless Steel, and Copper.
  • Knowledgeable in CNC milling and or turning, Mastercam and familiar with Fanuc controls.
  • Experience in cutting tool selection, speeds and feeds, and fixturing of parts.
  • Be able to perform secondary operations as required: Deburring, etc.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Be able to communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs+

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints to set-up and operate CNC machines
  • Utilize calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate machining processes.
  • Program and operate CNC milling and or Lathe machines and be familiar with Fanuc controls.
  • Utilize Mastercam programming for efficient machining operations.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards while working with CNC equipment.
  • Perform secondary operations as required such as deburring.

Experience:

  • (CNC) 3 years' minimum experience as Machinist/Set-up/Operator/Programmer.
