Outside Sales Position in NC & SC

Summary:

Mike Moore Sales & Consulting, LLC (MMS) is looking for an Outside Sales Representative who will assist our customers in the sale of commercial HVAC and critical environment equipment and instrumentation by building relationships in the greater NC and SC areas. The position reports to the President/General Manager.

We are Looking for a High Character Person who:

  • Effectively communicates with MMS Leadership, the Sales Team, our manufacturing partners, and our customers.
  • Understands and lives the company safety culture and is dependable.
  • Coordinates with our manufacturing partners to ensure customer satisfaction.

Duties:

  • Builds partnering relationships with assigned consulting engineering firm accounts to earn basis of design (BOD), influence specifications, and lead account and project strategies to grow our account share across our entire line card of HVAC and critical environment product offerings. Consistently drives specifications towards the full spectrum of MMS offerings with consulting engineers, not only earning BOD, but also influencing written specifications to provide value to the customers and differentiation from competitors. Makes selections for consulting engineers. Coordinates with customers and consulting engineers to get “approved equal” status on MMS offerings.
  • Actively calls on assigned controls, mechanical contractors and building owners to sell the entire range of MMS’s line card and on products from targeted manufacturers.
  • Participates and collaborates to pursue projects with the rest of the sales team, based on account assignments, and honors the credit split guidelines in rewarding teamwork that increases project win rates and profitability.
  • Understands MMS’s strengths and competitors’ weaknesses and drives opportunities to provide MMS with maximum advantage.
  • Leverages subject matter experts from within MMS’s manufacturers to better position and optimize MMS’s proposed offerings and systems, as needed. Conducts technical presentations on MMS’s offerings and positions oneself as a subject matter expert to assigned accounts and key product lines.
  • Keeps management informed of progress and account status. Leverages management with accounts, such as local, area, and/or executive leadership engagement and sponsorship, when and where appropriate. Utilizes applicable sales tools effectively to plan, build pipeline of opportunity, and document progress as well as increase penetration of accounts.
  • Develops a solid understanding and remains current on industry standards, pertinent building codes, and best practices for design of HVAC and critical environmental systems.
  • Assists in the development of the team sales and marketing plans and strategies. Aids in the implementation of these strategies and action plans. Targets new customers, engineers or projects based on account management and market strategies.
  • Participates in professional organizations for reasons of personal development, customer relationship building, and industry networking within local market community.
  • Other duties as assigned by the President/General Manager

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary and bonus package – Total Compensation package expectation is >100k annualized (commission based with draw)

Other

  • A college degree and/or experience in HVAC/critical environments or a related field, such as engineering or controls, is desirable
  • Must be available for overnight travel including some weekends several times per year
  • Must have a valid driver's license and own a dependable vehicle to use in making sales calls and other company travel (documented business mileage is reimbursed at the current IRS rate on dates incurred)
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs and be comfortable working for short periods of time in tight/confined spaces, and carry up to 50 lbs. for short distances
  • Offer acceptance is pending a full background check as well as signing of standard nondisclosure agreement and non-compete agreement
