Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30pm - 5:00pm

Location: Riverside, CA (100% On- site)

Contract Length: 3-6 months - Possibility for extension

Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Referral Coordinator. As a Referral Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient coordination of patient referrals within our healthcare facility. This position requires strong communication skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and the ability to navigate insurance verification processes.

Duties:
- Coordinate patient referrals from primary care providers to specialists
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for referrals
- Communicate with providers, and insurance companies to ensure timely and accurate processing of referrals
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of referral information in electronic medical record systems
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to facilitate the scheduling of appointments for referred patients
- Assist in the coordination of medical records and documentation required for referrals
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times

Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a dental or medical office
- Familiarity with medical coding systems such as ICD-10 and ICD-9
- Knowledge of managed care and insurance verification processes
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient privacy
