St. Hugh Catholic School in Miami, Florida has an opening for a qualified Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Teacher/ Coordinator for the upcoming 2024-25 academic year. The candidate ensures the quality of education and special needs programs to achieve the fullest attainment of the school's unique Catholic mission and shares responsibility for integrating faith and learning within the school through successful academic programs. The ESE teacher performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on certification and years of experience.
Qualifications:
- BS / BA Degree in Exceptional Student Education required; masters preferred.
- Florida Department of Education ESE teaching certificate; temporary or professional required.
- Experience teaching multi-grade level students with varying cognitive/developmental exceptionalities or disabilities, with proficiency in effective strategies.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills, including a clear speaking voice.
- Good spelling and grammar are required.
- Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel; PowerPoint a plus.
- Strong presentation skills with use of instructional technologies.
- Ability to design effective programs for diverse learning needs.
- Ability to assist parents and teachers with ESE evaluations.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Must be able to multi-task and retain accuracy in competing deadlines.
- Supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church, experience in a Roman Catholic environment is a plus.
- Knowledge of basic tenets of Roman Catholic Church.
- Must have a professional demeanor.
